Meet The Doctors


Dr. Ala Omar Ali

Dr. Ala Omar Ali graduated with a DMD degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Ali completed a two-year postgraduate program in Esthetic and Operative Dentistry at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in 2011.  In addition, Dr. Ali earned a doctorate degree in Restorative Dentistry from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine in 2015.  Dr. Ali currently works part time at Massachusetts Institute of Technology medical center as well as part-time in the Advanced Education Department of Esthetics and Operative Dentistry at Tufts. He is an advisor to several Masters of Science candidates and also conducts research in the field of CAD CAM and ceramic materials. In September 2018 Dr. Ali became an associate at Malden Family Dental, Malden, MA. Dr. Ali works mostly with Implant and Esthetic dentistry cases. 


Dr. Lauren Kai

Endodontist

Dr. Lauren Kai, originally from Honolulu, Hawaii, graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. She earned her D.M.D. degree from the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and completed her postdoctoral endodontics residency at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Kai is a member of the American Association of Endodontists, the Massachusetts Association of Endodontists, and is board certified as a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University and enjoys teaching clinical endodontics. Outside of the office, Dr. Kai loves traveling, baking, skiing, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family.


Dr. Mahmoud Hamad

Periodontist

Dr. Hamad is a dedicated periodontist committed to providing personalized and comprehensive solutions for your dental and gum health. Dr. Hamad began his academic journey at Florida Atlantic University, where he completed his undergraduate studies, laying the foundation for a career in dentistry. His passion for oral health and commitment to excellence led him to pursue his dental education at Western University of Health Sciences. Building on this solid foundation, Dr. Hamad further honed his skills and expertise by completing his periodontal residency at Harvard University School of Dental Medicine. Whether you are seeking periodontal maintenance, dental implants, or treatment for gum disease, Dr. Hamad combines skill, precision, and empathy to deliver exceptional results. With a patient-centered approach, he prioritizes your comfort and understanding throughout every step of your dental journey.



Dr. Thaisa Bordin

Dr. Thaisa Bordin is a highly accomplished dentist with a passion for delivering exceptional care and achieving beautiful, functional smiles. She earned her first dental degree from the State University of West of Paraná in Brazil, followed by advanced training in Prosthodontics and a Master of Science (MS) at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Dr. Bordin also completed a Doctor of Philosophy in Dental Sciences (PhD) through a combined program between PUCRS and Tufts University in the United States. With a solid foundation of private practice experience in Brazil, Dr. Bordin relocated to the United States, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine (TUSDM). She currently divides her time between private practice and her roles as an Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University and a faculty member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) Boston. Dr. Bordin specializes in esthetic and prosthetic dental rehabilitations, including advanced treatments for natural teeth and implants. With extensive training and experience using the latest techniques and technologies, she is dedicated to providing personalized, innovative, and predictable solutions to meet each patient’s unique needs. Her commitment to continuous education and research ensures that her patients benefit from the highest standards of care, combining artistry and precision to restore confidence and oral health.
